SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & HAPPY EMPLOYEES
- The UN Global Goals should not only be measured in CO2
Mesterflyt has sustainable ambitions and works with CSR strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Many people associate this with climate, environment and CO2 reductions, but it also relates to social responsibility and a good working climate. Fortunately, this is also very important at Mesterflyt.
There's an exercise bike at Mesterflyt's head office - and it's not just for decoration, it's used regularly to get the pulse rate up for the employees behind the desks. The company's movers and drivers have enough movement in their daily lives, so instead of the exercise bike, they often use the massage program that all employees also have access to.
Health for all employees
"It's important for me to have happy employees. And I only have happy employees if they're thriving and not running around with neck strain, mouse injuries or other ailments," explains Victor Helgogaard, Managing Director at Mesterflyt. So it's only natural that health - both physical and mental - is a priority focus point for the company. Mesterflyt also has a health advisor on staff. All this is in line with the CSR strategy and the selected SDGs that Mesterflyt works with. Because sustainable transition also means focusing on the areas that are not measured through CO2 reductions. That said, Mesterflyt is of course also working seriously to reduce the company's carbon footprint.
A more climate-friendly moving process
"We try to replace common materials with more sustainable ones wherever possible," explains Victor Helgogaard, "For example, our moving boxes are made from 75% recycled FSC-labeled paper, and the remaining 25% paper comes from sustainable forestry." Mesterflyt considers the entire moving process in terms of sustainability - from how they plan, execute and complete a job. Because the logistics between moves matter a lot. "Something like transporting empty air - when we drive with empty moving trucks - is very expensive in both gasoline and CO2. It's pure wasteful driving and something we work hard to avoid - for example, by using an intelligent fleet management system and by thinking about strategic parking of our moving trucks."
We want to lead the way
Mesterflyt - the name says it all in their marketing. This also applies to the sustainable transition, where they are ready to lead the way in their industry. Victor Helgogaard explains: "We're constantly looking at new solutions and try to consider both employees and the environment around us. I have no doubt that Mesterflyt can make a positive difference. We dare to stand out from our competitors and we know that working with CO2 reductions and mental well-being is a long-term investment and not something we can do quickly."
