Quality wins over price in Carlsro moving tender

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & HAPPY EMPLOYEES

Mesterflyt has sustainable ambitions and works with CSR strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Many people associate this with climate, environment and CO2 reductions, but it also relates to social responsibility and a good working climate. Fortunately, this is also very important at Mesterflyt.

There's an exercise bike at Mesterflyt's head office - and it's not just for decoration, it's used regularly to get the pulse rate up for the employees behind the desks. The company's movers and drivers have enough movement in their daily lives, so instead of the exercise bike, they often use the massage program that all employees also have access to.

Health for all employees

"It's important for me to have happy employees. And I only have happy employees if they're thriving and not running around with neck strain, mouse injuries or other ailments," explains Victor Helgogaard, Managing Director at Mesterflyt. So it's only natural that health - both physical and mental - is a priority focus point for the company. Mesterflyt also has a health advisor on staff. All this is in line with the CSR strategy and the selected SDGs that Mesterflyt works with. Because sustainable transition also means focusing on the areas that are not measured through CO2 reductions. That said, Mesterflyt is of course also working seriously to reduce the company's carbon footprint.

A more climate-friendly moving process

"We try to replace common materials with more sustainable ones wherever possible," explains Victor Helgogaard, "For example, our moving boxes are made from 75% recycled FSC-labeled paper, and the remaining 25% paper comes from sustainable forestry." Mesterflyt considers the entire moving process in terms of sustainability - from how they plan, execute and complete a job. Because the logistics between moves matter a lot. "Something like transporting empty air - when we drive with empty moving trucks - is very expensive in both gasoline and CO2. It's pure wasteful driving and something we work hard to avoid - for example, by using an intelligent fleet management system and by thinking about strategic parking of our moving trucks."

We want to lead the way

Mesterflyt - the name says it all in their marketing. This also applies to the sustainable transition, where they are ready to lead the way in their industry. Victor Helgogaard explains: "We're constantly looking at new solutions and try to consider both employees and the environment around us. I have no doubt that Mesterflyt can make a positive difference. We dare to stand out from our competitors and we know that working with CO2 reductions and mental well-being is a long-term investment and not something we can do quickly."

If moving house cleaning is not at the top of your agenda, you can fortunately get professional help. Read more about moving house cleaning in this post and how it can be a relief for you.

What to do when moving house is dirty?

A move is already a big undertaking and it can be difficult to find the time and energy to take care of the cleaning. This applies to both private moves, where you also need to find time for your family, and business moves, where you need to set aside time for work tasks.

It can be an advantage to use a moving company that takes care of both the move itself and the cleaning. This way you can kill two birds with one stone and focus on what's most important to you.

Move to-do list

When you're facing a private move, there are a number of moving tips you can put on your to-do list. As a professional moving company, Mesterflyt has handled many moves, so we know that there are a lot of practical things to take care of.

In this post, you'll find a 10-point checklist to make your move more manageable.

10 things to remember when moving

1. registered address

You must remember to report your move to the national register no later than 5 days after you move. You can do this either digitally on the website of the municipality you are moving to or at borger.dk. To report your move online, you must use MitID/NemID or digital signature. You can also report your private move together for your entire household.

2. Report a change of address

The National Population Register automatically notifies all public offices when you have reported your move. However, not all offices are notified that you have changed your address. Therefore, you must remember to inform places such as:

  • Utilities - electricity, water, heating, gas
  • Doctor - if you keep the same one
  • Various subscriptions
  • Blood banks
  • Phone, TV and internet provider
  • Leisure activities.

3. Name on the mailbox

An important moving tip is to put your name on your new mailbox immediately, otherwise PostNord is not obliged to deliver your mail. Also, remember to remove your name from your old mailbox so there's no confusion about where your letters are going.

If you are signed up for "Advertising - No thanks", "Advertising and free newspapers - No thanks" and/or "No thanks+", remember to sign up again after the move, as these will automatically expire after the change of address.

4. Physician

If you want to change your doctor after your private move, this is free of charge. However, the main rule is that you must choose a doctor within 15 km of your new address. As with the civil registration address, you must change your doctor online to the municipality you are moving to or via borger.dk. Here you can also get an overview of which doctors are open for appointments.

5. Reading of consumption

When you move, you need to read your electricity, gas, water and heating bills and report your move to the utility companies. In addition, you must also read your consumption and report your new address to the utility companies, who must have your figures within 5 days of your move. However, some companies require it no later than 3 days after moving.

6. Housing benefit

If you move to a rented home, you can apply for housing benefit. You can find the application form at borger.dk, where you can also read more about the rules for the subsidy.

7. Insurance

You may need to make changes to your home insurance for a private move. In addition, not all insurance policies cover all types of homes. For example, if your new house has a thatched roof, there may be changes to your insurance. Remember to contact your insurance company and ask about any changes.

8. Are you moving abroad?

There are several things you need to be aware of when moving abroad. From visas, residence and work permits, rules for bringing pets, vaccination requirements, educational opportunities for your children, banking information, etc.

If you are moving abroad for more than 6 months, you must also report your departure to the National Population Register. This can be done online on the municipality's website, at borger.dk or by contacting the municipality's Citizen Service.

At Mesterflyt we are happy to help with moves to and from Denmark under our international division MF Interlogistics.

9. Get hold of moving boxes

When you're moving, you need moving boxes to organize your belongings. Moving boxes can be expensive yet necessary to buy.

As a Mesterflyt customer, you can borrow moving boxes from us for free 14 days before and after your move.

10. Packing of belongings

It can take a long time to pack up your belongings and sort them so that they can be easily organized in your new home. You're bound to find that there are several items that either need to be sold, thrown out or given away.

If you need help packing your belongings in a practical and responsible way, you can benefit from the services of a professional moving company. They can help you with packing, transportation and unpacking.

Want us to help with your move?

Moving house can be stressful and even with our moving tips, it can still seem like a daunting process. So enlist the help of a professional moving company to make your move efficient and hassle-free. Mesterflyt We offer both storage and various moving services so you don't have to lift a finger.

How to choose a good moving company

Many moving boxes

Have you decided to get help from a professional moving company for your move? Whether it's a residential or commercial move, it's a good idea to do some background research on the moving company. While most movers are reliable and responsible, there are also companies that don't have their act together.

Read more in this post and learn more about tips for your move.

Is the moving company a member of DMF?

It's wise to check if the moving company is a member of the Danish Furniture Removal Association(DMF). This is a clear indicator that the moving company is responsible and that the employees have decent working conditions.

At Mesterflyt we are a member of DMF, as we want to ensure the best conditions for our customers and employees.

Do they offer competitive prices?

It's always a good idea to compare the quotes you receive with each other. For example, if you get a quote that's well below the average of what other moving companies offer, you should check if it's too good to be true.

There are always costs associated with a move. While prices should of course be competitive compared to other movers, a very low price can also indicate that the moving company is not the safest or most reliable in the industry.

Check reviews online

One of the easiest ways to find a reliable and safe moving company is to check out what others write online. A quick Google search or reviews on TrustPilot can give you insight into other people's experiences with the moving company, which can help you decide whether to use them for your residential or commercial move.

Ask for recommendations from friends and family

It's quick and easy to ask friends and family members for moving company recommendations. Based on their recommendations, you can investigate the company further either on Trustpilot or by looking it up in the CVR register. Some moving companies close down and reappear shortly after with a new name, so it's wise to do a background check on the company.

Does the moving company only offer moving on an hourly rate?

Many moving companies offer both fixed and hourly rates, and you may want to check how the price is calculated. One is not necessarily better than the other.

With an hourly rate, be aware that you don't know the final price and the price may be higher than originally estimated if the move takes longer than expected. However, if you only need help with a small part of the move, it can be an advantage to choose an hourly rate.

You should also be aware that mileage is calculated from the moving company leaving from their own address.

Is the moving company a member of Danske Vognmænd?

It is advantageous to choose a moving company that is a member of Danske Vognmænd (DTL), as they ensure that the everyday life of the movers runs as efficiently and smoothly as possible.

To become a member of Danske Vognmænd, the moving company must have high business ethics. Therefore, membership with DTL is your guarantee that the moving company meets the market's highest standards and complies with DMF's General Terms and Conditions.

Mesterflyt is a member of DTL, so you can rest assured that we comply with all the standards below to make your move as painless as possible.

Mesterflyt are ready to help with your move

Are you looking for a responsible and professional moving company to handle your residential or commercial move? Mesterflyt is a member of both DMF and DTL, and we even prioritize environmentally friendly moving, which is why we have drawn up a CSR policy.

We're always ready to help, and if you need tips for your move, we can also offer advice to make the process more manageable for you.

Give us a call on +45 61 700 750 750 or fill out the contact form - and you'll receive a good, non-binding offer tailored to your needs.

MESTERFLYT A/S STRENGTHENS THE ORGANIZATION

Jan Stelmaszczyk has as of today, November 1, 2022, joined Mesterflyt A/S in the role of Project Manager.

Closer to the customer

As part of our development, we have experienced an increasing need to strengthen our organization in the link between customers and the office. We find that business customers in particular are increasingly demanding a consistent contact person with whom they can discuss and plan ahead of major organizational changes and relocations. That's why we've decided to create an additional project manager position in our organization, so we can move even closer to our customers.

An experienced capacity

The position has been filled by Jan Stelmaszczyk, who has a vast knowledge of the industry. Jan started 12 years ago as a self-employed mover and knows all the processes and issues that can be encountered in connection with a move. For the past 2 years, Jan has been employed at ISS Facility Services A/S, where he was assigned as a permanent project coordinator at one of the country's largest companies.

Happy reunion

We are delighted that we have succeeded in adding an experienced capacity in the form of Jan to our already strong team. A capacity that will definitely benefit our customers and take our service to a new level.

Today we welcomed Jan with a community gathering and breakfast and we look forward to working together.

Fun Fact: During Jan's time as self-employed, he also managed to work with Mesterflyt, making him a familiar face to most of his colleagues.

Jan tells us herself

I am very excited to be associated with Mesterflyt permanently. I have worked with Mesterflyt when I was an independent mover, just as I have had the pleasure of them as a supplier through my work at ISS Facility Services A/S.

I know the quality they stand for and I look forward to helping set the standard for our customers.

Family with children and need to move?

Relocation for private families

A private move is already a big change that can be difficult both practically and emotionally. For a family with children, it can be an even more difficult process. But don't worry - we've put together some tips and advice for families with children facing a move.

Read more here about moving with children and learn how to make the process easy and enjoyable for all parties.

How do you tell your children that you're moving?

Moving house isn't easy and balancing the practicalities with life as a family with children can be difficult. It can be more complicated if the children are young and don't fully understand what it means to move. Conversely, it can also be tough if the children are older and have a network to move away from. Regardless of the age of the children, moving with children can present several challenges.

  • Break the news as early as possible:

It's a big decision to make when you're moving your family. That's why it's usually a decision that's made many months before the actual move. If this is the case, it's a good idea to tell the children about the move as soon as it's finalized. The longer the children have to get used to the move, the easier it will be for them.

  • Prepare for the children's reaction:

You need to prepare for the fact that your children may be upset, angry or disappointed by the decision to move. Therefore, you need to prepare for their reaction so that you don't react negatively to their immediate response. In this case, two negatives don't equal a positive outcome - quite the opposite, in fact.

  • Acknowledge the children's feelings:

It's best to acknowledge your children's feelings regardless of their reaction to the move. Empathize with their feelings and help them to understand what they are feeling and how to deal with it.

  • Give the kids details:

Everyone needs information about a new change if they are to process it. This also applies to children when they are moving house. So tell them all the information they need to know and answer their questions. By giving them details about their new home, you're giving them something to look forward to instead, turning any negative reaction into a positive one.

  • Show the kids their new home before you move:

In line with giving the kids something to get excited about, it's a good idea to show them pictures of their future home. Let them see pictures of their rooms and if possible, visit the house and your future hometown before your move.

  • Let the kids adjust to the new place:

A private move requires adjustment time for all parties, so give children time to get used to their new home. Although children's adaptability is far stronger and quicker than adults, a change as big as moving can require extra time.

The practical moving tips for families with children

In addition to keeping an eye on the kids, there are also a lot of practical things to take care of. To make your private move as simple as possible, we've put together some tips for those who are moving house with children.

  • Plan and prepare for your move well in advance.
  • Let the kids be involved in the move itself.
  • Get childcare if you need it.
  • Pack room by room.
  • Pack the children's room last.

A good start is half done, and if you plan your move carefully as a family, you'll be doing both your children and yourself a big favor. However, as a family with children, time is already at a premium and with a move on top of that, there are even fewer hours in the day. It can be a good idea to get outside help when moving with children.

Let Mesterflyt help your family move

If you are moving house with children, it is advantageous to use a professional moving company moving company. No matter where in Denmark your family with children is located, we are ready to help. At Mesterflyt , we have several years of experience with private moving, and we take pride in giving you more time for your family when you move.

Give us a call on tel. +45 61 700 750 750 or fill out the contact form - and you'll receive a good and non-binding offer that suits you.

        Tips for an eco-friendly move

The UN Sustainable Development Goals wheel in color

Whether it is a matter of business relocation or private relocationit's in the best interest of the environment if green solutions are considered to create the most environmentally friendly move possible.

That's why we've put together a number of tips for your move to make it more sustainable.

Check out our tips for an eco-friendly move and contact us if you need a hand with your move.

        • Reuse the original boxes

If you have saved the original boxes for old electronics, furniture or other items, use them when you move! Not only will you save money on buying new boxes, but you'll also save the environment by reusing.

        • Use containers that you already own:

You already have several storage solutions in your home that you can use for moving. Suitcases, drawers, bags, plastic bags, duffel bags, tote bags, sports bags and whatever else you can think of can all be used for moving. You save money, time and it makes for a much more environmentally friendly move.

        • Rent your moving boxes

En anden måde til at få en miljøvenlig flytning er ved at leje eller låne sine flyttekasser. Metoden bliver gradvist mere udbredt i Danmark og er en smart og let måde for dig at skåne miljøet på.

        • Sell and donate

Throwing things away because you no longer need them is a huge waste. If your items are fine, sell or donate them instead. Also, remember that even if you can't see the value of an item, it's better to take it to a recycling center and let them assess whether the item can be resold. One person's junk can be someone else's gold!

        • Be responsible when throwing out waste

Some things obviously can't be saved and must be thrown away. Remember to sort your waste into the right categories at the recycling center. This way, you'll help the environment as much as possible and make your move more environmentally friendly.

        • Rent a storage unit

        • Make sure you have a big enough moving van

You won't have a very eco-friendly move if you choose to drive back and forth in a small car with your belongings. Unless you own an electric car, it's better to use a large moving van to minimize fuel consumption.

        • Buy eco-friendly materials

You can buy both tape and bubble wrap, which is more environmentally friendly. So if you're buying materials for new, go for the products that are made from the greenest materials.

Contact Mesterflyt for an eco-friendly commercial or residential move

Mesterflyt is a moving companythat wants to create a sustainable future for the way we move in a global and changing world. That's why we have also created a CSR strategy that can lead us towards long-term and sustainable solutions.

All our packaging boxes are made from a minimum of 70% recycled FSC-labeled paper and 25% wood from sustainable forestry. Once the box has served its purpose, it is taken to a recycling center where the cardboard is recycled and used to make a moving box again.

Give us a call on tel. +45 61 700 750 750 or fill out the contact form - and you'll receive a good, no-obligation quote for an environmentally friendly commercial or private move.

        Moving with relocation distress

Moving can be a big job, whether you're moving your home or your business. That's why there are several advantages to hiring a professional moving company that can handle all the practicalities.

Read more about the benefits of using a professional moving company and find out what you need to consider before your move.

        Moving company or move yourself?

Are you facing a private relocation? The moving process can be both difficult and confusing for many. Moving is hard mentally and physically. Firstly, the whole family has to adjust to a new address. Secondly, carrying heavy moving boxes is hard on the body. That's why it's an advantage to use a moving companythat takes care of the practicalities, so you only have to spend energy on mentally adjusting to your new surroundings.

A professional moving company can take care of boxes, packing your furniture, the actual move and unpacking. This saves you a lot of time and effort, and your furniture is in safe and experienced hands to ensure it gets through the move in one piece. What's more, a professional and proper moving company will have insurance to compensate you in the event of an accident.

Is it worth hiring a moving company?

There are many benefits to hiring a professional moving company as it makes the moving process much simpler and easier. However, before choosing a moving company, it's a good idea to ask them the right questions to make sure you get the help you need.

Ask these questions before you hire a moving company:

        • What moving services do you offer?
        • Do you have moving insurance?
        • How many movers do you provide?
        • How do you calculate the price?
        • What happens if I cancel the move?

These questions will give you all the knowledge you need to decide if professional help with your move is the right solution for you.

        Moving company for commercial relocation?

If your company is moving premises, it pays to have a professional moving company take care of the practicalities. When commercial relocation the movers will take care of packing IT equipment and other inventory, packing archives, moving belongings to new premises and setting everything up correctly.

At Mesterflyt , we provide a relocation consultant for commercial moves to ensure that the entire move goes smoothly. Whether it's a small office, a department or an entire company, professional commercial relocation gives you and your employees the peace of mind to focus on your work.

        International contracts and annual audit

Mesterflyt has also prepared a full CSR strategy with sections on human rights, anti-corruption measures, labour rights as well as climate and environment. In this context, a CSR committee has been set up consisting of key people in the office, and the company commits to an annual CSR reporting with open communication on the status of KPIs.

It all looks very formalized and academic, and the question arises whether it is really necessary for a Danish moving company.

"We meet it as a requirement in many of the contracts we sign with international groups and large companies," Victor Helgogaard explains, "So if we want the customers, we also need to be in control of all the processes." A concrete example is that many require an annual audit where Mesterflyt illustrates the year's progress in relation to sustainable transition.

It is barely a year since the CSR strategy was signed on 26 November 2020, so the first progress report has not yet been published.

Let Mesterflyt take care of the move

Whether it's a residential or commercial move, Mesterflyt is ready to help. We offer both storage and various moving services so you don't have to lift a finger.

Give us a call on +45 61 700 750 750 or fill out the contact form - and you'll receive a good, non-binding offer tailored to your needs.
